Construction Works Manager

- Full time, Permanent

- Salary up to £40,000 per annum

You will be responsible for overseeing the on site process of store fit outs and refurbishments, this includes relationship management of external contractors ensuring that projects are completed on time and within pre-approved budgets. You will also support the delivery of a comprehensive programme of new store openings, relocations and refurbishments in a safe, sustainable and legally compliant way.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the on site store shop fit / remedial works process whilst on site, giving guidance to contractors whilst undertake required works whilst ensuring compliance with current regulations and delivering a high standard of store fit out.
  • Responsible for the completion of individual store reviews and identify remedial works required, document and issue to relevant individuals.
  • Responsible for managing projects across the existing estate as and when needed.
  • Undertake site surveys, providing measured surveys and photographic / condition reports, preparing detailed schedules of condition where required.
  • Responsible for the review and approval of Contractor Health & Safety to ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • Responsible for all associated documentation in relation to store fit out specification.
  • Participate in pre-start meetings with the wider Property Team and external contractors, giving clear guidance on works required whilst on site.
  • Attend site meetings with landlords Project Manager's to agree and sign off condition of buildings prior to shop fit start.
  • Support with the preparation of statutory compliance apllications such as Building Regulations Applications, Building Warrants, Fire Safety Certificates.
  • Accountable for the Site Audit Co-ordinator role ensuring the process for all snagging is completed in a timely manner to an acceptable standard.

What you will need:

  • Leadership capability both in a people management and site management capacity
  • Demonstrable experience of working on construction sites and experience of working within an office environment.
  • Demonstrable design, construction and property knowledge
  • Must have minimum 3 years experience in a similar Construction Management role.
  • Self leadership capability in relation to legislation and compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and influence and challenge external and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrable decision making capability within a fast paced environment
