Production Coordinator

The main role of the Production Coordinator is to ensure that incoming and outgoing parts are accurately booked in and out and released to the customer in a timely manner and with the appropriate documentation. They are also responsible for supporting Quality and Production activities by ensuring new product requirements are in place prior to being introduced into the company for processing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To book in customer orders onto our job processing system
  • Contract review of incoming work: including maintaining order identification and traceability
  • To ensure the interpretation of customer/drawing requirements and the dissemination of this information to operators responsible for work
  • To liaise with customers over confirmation of order requirements and quality issues as required
  • To plan and accurately record process layouts/routings, quality plans/data cards and specification test regimes for both new product integration and engineering change jobs, ensuring the accurate collation of quality, technical and commercial information
  • To ensure any customer order received for dispatch has the job card documentation included
  • To ensure that inspected parts, which are ready for dispatch, correspond with job card documentation - e.g. part number and quantity and include correct carriage account information
  • To ensure that any shortage of parts is recorded accurately on the delivery note, by obtaining the reason for this shortage
  • To ensure orders for dispatch via carrier are packed appropriately and the consignment note is completed accurately
  • To assist with the preparation of documentation for export
  • To ensure all relevant dispatch documentation accompanies the completed order before dispatch
  • To liaise with the Customer Service Manager with any order dispatch queries
  • To ensure all completed orders are dispatched in a timely manner
  • To ensure all paperwork generated from the booking out process is accurately completed and filed
  • To assist with callers to the goods inwards area in a courteous and punctual manner
  • To maintain a satisfactory level of cleanliness and order within the booking out area
  • To perform other duties as may be assigned by the line manager or as per the requirements of the business.

What you will need:

  • Working knowledge within manufacturing/production environment (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to take direction, learn and apply knowledge in a changing operating environment.
  • Previous experience in a technical or Production Coordinator role (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience working in a changing operational environment.
