Full time Head of English (Interim) - Summer Term
Start Date: April 2026
We are working with a well-regarded secondary school seeking an exceptional English specialist to step in as Interim Head of English for the Summer Term. The school is keen to secure a highly capable practitioner who can maintain strong leadership and outstanding teaching across the department.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the English Department throughout the Summer Term
- Teach English Language and English Literature up to A Level
- Deliver consistently high‑quality lessons across all year groups
- Support the continued progress, curriculum delivery, and standards within the department
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders to ensure smooth continuity during the period of cover
About You
The is school is open to:
- An experienced Head of English seeking a short‑term leadership post
- OR
- A very experienced English Teacher with a proven track record of excellence who is ready to step up
You must be:
- An outstanding classroom practitioner with English as your main specialism
- Confident teaching both Language and Literature at KS3-KS5
- Able to provide stability, expertise, and strong subject leadership during the Summer Term
