Job Title: Full time SEMH Teacher
Contract Duration: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Weston-super-Mare
We are looking for a dedicated full‑time SEMH Teacher to join a SEMH school in Weston‑super‑Mare. This role is available for an immediate start and will run until the end of the academic year. The successful teacher will take full responsibility for a class of eight students, supported by three additional members of staff, and will be expected to take on full classroom responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised education plans tailored to students' unique needs
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons for students with SEMH needs
- Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students
- Provide targeted support and interventions to help students achieve their potential
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Provide guidance and support to teaching assistants and support staff
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Prior experience working with pupils with SEN/SEMH needs
- Strong understanding of SEN policies and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students' growth
